Dr. Chen teaches biostatistics courses in the School of Medicine and the Preventive Medicine Residency Program. He advises statistics graduate students in statistical research and mentors medical fellows/residents in clinical research. Dr. Chen consults and collaborates with clinical and basic science researchers of the Medical Center and the Health Sciences Center on various projects, providing expertise in study design and data analysis. Dr. Chen's own research emphasizes on the development and application of biostatistical tools to address biomedical and public health questions. His research interests include gene-environment interaction in disease onset and progression, population genetics, pediatric urology, longitudinal data analysis, and other applied statistical problems.
